Introducing Melissa Liberatore – Founder and Editor of Poetry Buzz Press

Hi! I am Melissa Liberatore, the founder and editor here at Poetry Buzz Press. I am happy and oh-so-excited to be the guiding voice and vision for this publication.

So, who is Melissa? What does she bring to the table? Pardon me while I jump into speaking in the third person.

Melissa brings a deep appreciation for storytelling, language, and the power of poetry to connect people across experiences. As editor, she works closely with poets to curate compelling collections that highlight diverse voices, thoughtful perspectives, and the many ways poetry reflects the world around us.

With a strong background in writing and editorial work, Melissa approaches each issue with a careful balance of creativity and intention. She believes poetry should be accessible, meaningful, and capable of sparking both reflection and conversation. Her editorial philosophy centers on elevating authentic voices—whether emerging writers sharing their first poems or experienced poets exploring new creative directions.

At Poetry Buzz Press there is a strong focus on building a community around poetry. Through thoughtful curation and collaboration with contributors, Melissa aims to create a publication that celebrates the craft while encouraging readers to discover new writers and ideas.

Under her leadership, Poetry Buzz Press’s mission is to showcase poetry that challenges, inspires, and resonates.

I am so excited where this goes
